Built from conviction.
Refined by craft.
Oak Park Woodworks was born not from a business plan, but from a refusal to settle. When mass-produced furniture couldn't meet the standard our home deserved, I stepped into the workshop and began building it myself. What started as a personal conviction became a calling and a craft.
"We do not simply build furniture. We create the setting for your family's legacy; pieces designed to be passed down, not replaced."
The origin
I grew up building things that mattered.
From ages 11 to 13, my family lived in Haiti as missionaries. We built houses. A church. A medical center. I was a kid swinging a hammer in a place where what you built with your hands was the difference between someone having shelter or not. That does something to you.
When we came back to the States, my dad put me back to work on his job sites. I learned to frame, measure, read a structure. Took woodworking in high school and found something quieter in it than construction. More personal. A joint that fits perfectly, a surface planed smooth enough to reflect light. I couldn't leave it alone.
When my wife and I bought our first house in 2024, I started building furniture for it because nothing in the stores felt worth owning. Wrong materials, wrong scale, built to be replaced. I built nightstands, a high top, and a coffee table instead. Then started building dining tables for friends and family.
Oak Park Woodworks became official in June 2025. I still build every piece myself, here in Carlisle, the same way I've always approached building anything. Like it needs to last. Like someone's going to depend on it.
If you want something built that way, let's talk.
What we stand for
The table as architecture
Throughout history and scripture, the act of gathering at a shared table has been the foundation of community and grace. We design every table to be the architectural heart of your home — a vessel for connection, celebration, and belonging.
Uncompromising craft
We reject the culture of the temporary. Every joint, finish, and proportion is considered not just for how it looks today, but for how it will age over decades. We build from the finest solid timbers — not veneers, not composites — and finish every surface by hand.
Stewardship of materials
We view fine timber as a trust, not a commodity. Each piece of wood we select is chosen for its grain, its character, and its suitability for a piece meant to endure. We build slowly, deliberately, and with a profound respect for what the material can become.
Work as service
As followers of Jesus, we believe that how we work is an expression of who we are. Every commission is an opportunity to serve with integrity — to give our clients not merely what they asked for, but something better than they imagined.
Every piece begins with a conversation.
We accept a limited number of commissions each season. If you are considering a bespoke piece, we'd welcome the opportunity to hear about your vision.
