The Heirloom Guarantee
Our Commitment to Posterity
At Oak Park Woodworks, we do not merely manufacture furniture; we engineer legacies. We are honored to offer a lifetime warranty on the structural integrity and craftsmanship of every piece we commission. This guarantee is a covenant with the original curator of the piece, ensuring that the table you invest in today remains a functional work of art for the generations that follow. This warranty is extended to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
What We Protect
Architectural Stability We guarantee the structural framework of your piece, hardware, and assembly. If the craftsmanship fails, we will make it right.
Material Integrity We warrant our timber against manufacturing defects and structural warping that may occur under appropriate climate-controlled conditions.
Artisanal Finish Our finishes are applied to endure. We warrant against blistering, peeling, or unnatural discoloration of the finish when the piece is subjected to proper care and intended use.
The Nature of Living Materials (Exclusions)
Wood is an organic material that breathes, reacts, and matures. As such, certain changes are a testament to its authenticity rather than a defect.
The Patina of Life (Normal Wear): We build tables to be used, not just admired. Scratches, small dents, and the natural deepening of tone due to sunlight are not defects; they are the narrative of the table’s life in your home. This organic "patina" is not covered.
Environmental Stewardship: Solid wood is hygroscopic—it interacts with the moisture in the air. Damage caused by extreme humidity swings, uncontrolled temperatures, direct heat sources, or fire is not covered.
Seasonal Movement: While we select and dry our lumber to exacting standards, wood will naturally expand and contract with the seasons. Minor checking (hairline cracks) or movement that does not threaten structural integrity is a characteristic of solid timber, not a flaw.
Proper Care & Usage: This warranty assumes the piece is treated with the respect an heirloom deserves. Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, chemical exposure, or failure to use protective coasters/trivets is not covered.
Preserving the Provenance: To maintain the integrity of the work, any modifications or repairs performed by a party other than an Oak Park craftsman will void this warranty.
